about
Burton Music School is a modern, band-based music school that helps kids discover music, confidence and belonging.
We believe that music is better with mates. Burton Music School is built around this value of collaboration. Students learn in bands and groups, developing empathy, teamwork and communication while experiencing what it feels like to contribute to something bigger than themselves.
Elijah Burton, the founder of Burton Music School, has been teaching in the Nelson region for decades, refining his knowledge of collaborative music development and pastoral group dynamics. He began teaching all instruments connected to your average rock band, and soon started developing lessons where students develop their skills in the context their instruments were made for: playing music together!
Burton Music School currently offers curated band lessons as well as group lessons on a range of instruments.
